My whole life I have been in love with animals. Ever since I was a child, there was always an animal for me to take care of and provide comfort to throughout their life. I have always strived to make sure my animals were at a state of utmost comfort with me so that I could be not only reliable, but also a source of love for the animals. In becoming this safe space for my animals, I have also been able to build my communication skills with those around me. Throughout my time as a cashier, I had to navigate how to be the best employee I could be. In this, I built up my social skills not only with customers, but also colleagues, so I could create a welcoming and positive working environment. Because of this experience, I feel I will be able to make a positive experience in the workplace not only with the animals but also with the people. In being a kennel assistant, I know I can bring the utmost comfort to the animals while taking care of them, no matter the challenge. I believe with being able to use my quick thinking and social skills, which were developed in my time as a cashier, I can create the desired working environment while also bringing comfort to the animals around me.
As a customer service cashier, I was not only expected to man a cash register and self checkout but was also expected to refill bags, clean registers and service floor, clean the break room, and restock shelves. I also had constant communication with customers and colleagues making my communication skills very high.
As a housekeeper, I was expected to clean cabins, beech restrooms, and public restrooms daily. I was also expected to check the materials given to me and make sure I had everything I needed to begin my day by myself. I was ocassionally the head of cleaning groups and had to make sure all cleaning was up to the standards of the camp.
