• Mental Health Clinical, Pine Rest, 08/01/24, 10/31/24, As a nursing student I interviewed clients about their mental health and suicide prevention., I worked with nurses and behavior technicians to ensure patient safety and care., I talked to patients about their lives and their plans for their mental health.
• Community Health Clinical, GR, MI Neighborhood, 10/01/24, 12/31/24, I took community members blood sugars and blood pressure at pop up clinics., I interviewed an elderly community member about their health history and steps they were to take to further their health in the future., I talked to an elementary student about eating healthy foods and using handouts in my education.
• OB Clinical- Labor and Delivery, University of Michigan Health West, 01/01/25, 03/31/25, I worked with a nurse preceptor on the L&D floor to perform care for patient pre and post-delivery and newborns., I administered medications with my nursing professor or the nurse as scheduled for the patient., I performed assessments on the patient I was assigned to and basic patient care., I witnessed a C-Section.
• Pediatrics Clinical, Fifth Floor Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, 03/01/25, 05/31/25, I performed an assessment on the patient I was assigned to every morning along with vitals and basic care needs., I communicated with the nurse about any patient changes and what was needed in patient care that day., I administered medications to the patient with my nursing professor as scheduled to PRN for the patient., I learned how to use specific pumps and care for pediatric patients.
• Medical Surgical Clinical, 5 Heart at Corwell's Heart Center, 09/01/25, 12/31/25, I worked with a nurse preceptor each shift to perform care for patients pre/post cardiac surgery or lung transplant., I performed nursing assessments, vitals, and basic care for one to two patients I was assigned to each clinical day., I administered medications to the patients with the nurse as scheduled or PRN., I assisted the nurse in certain procedures such as Heart Tube removal., I read the EKG along with the nurse to monitor for any changes in the patient's heart rhythm.
• Future Leadership Clinical, 4 Lacks Oncology Unit- Trinity Health, 01/01/25, 03/31/25, I will work alongside a nurse preceptor for seven night shifts, performing needed patient care.
