- While apprenticing i learned many different aspects of the job. Most importantly i learned of Cordia's safety procedures and practices. Some of the safety i learned inludes but not limited to Lock out/Tag out, job briefing forms, 2 minute drills, stop work authority, and the importance of P.P.E. These are crucial in keeping yourself, cowowrkers, bystanders, and equipment safe. I am currently CPR certified, i understand how to use fire extingushers, and A.E.D.
- Job duties: As i continue to work with Cordia i have many different jobs/ responsibilities. some of my tasks include doing rounds verifying the state of the machines, doing water tests, punching tubes, taking readings, and general housekeeping. Those are my day to day activities. Some of the more intricate work would include, watching temporary boilers for landmark, running chill and condensing water pumps to circulate water, replacing ballasts for light fixtures, starting and stopping of chillers/boilers and other equipment, Adding chemicals/ transferring chemicals places, i have refurbished a safety shower water tempering system, and much more.
