Electrician

Electrical systems inc
Omaha
08.2020 - 09.2021
  • Responded quickly to emergency calls regarding electrical malfunctions.

I worked strictly on a service van, taking service calls and small home renovations day and night. I gained all my knowledge on AC hookups and furnace hookups. I was always sent to jobs that required attention to detail, especially in exposed areas where exposed electrical, such as conduit, would be visible. My attention to detail got me very far in the service industry, and being quick on my feet and using my resources is a strong suit that has helped me in the service aspect of electrical.

Overall, a great company just didn't have enough work consistently.

  • At Electrical Contractors Inc. I started my electrical apprenticeship straight out of high school two weeks after I graduated, Electrical Contractors Inc. primarily focused on small commercial projects and large commercial projects. This is where I learned my conduit, bending skills, fishing outlets down the wall, adding switches learning circuitry, reading blueprints, and the overall commercial background. I also learned my parts knowledge at this company. I was liking my position in the company as a first year apprentice, but knew my talents were to be used in a service setting. Just when I was thinking about switching to a more service based electrical company Covid struck the company hard in the beginning of 2020 and the company had many layoffs and due to my lack of experience at the time I was one of the first to go so I made my journey to electrical systems Inc. where I started my career in the service industry.

I owe many of my current talents, including attention to detail with my work down to aligning the screws on a face plate to this company. I was influenced by many great journeyman, and fellow apprentice is at this company, and it was a great start to my career.
